Lampshades. Swimmer chic. Willy Wonka style. Kid Rock fetishizing. Presenting some of the more, well, unusual looks from the Spring 2012 collections in Europe
The Vibe for Spring 2012: Scott Sternberg goes full-Broadway with an homage to West Side Story. The high-spirited American clothes are featured on models and real dancers, and the retro-influenced collection has all of the trappings of a sock hop: rolled-up skinny pants, cool varsity jackets and colorful zip hoodies, all with a modern feel. The first B.O.O. jean also was shown. In addition, there are double-breasted jackets, navy cotton suits, and signature-striped shirts and ties.

Just because it’s menswear doesn’t mean there aren’t any women around. Check out the week’s most beguiling beauties from the runways in Milan and Paris.
Thanks, Dirk Bikkembergs.
As captured by STREETFSN’s Hyunbeon Nam, we rank the 10 men who killed it on the streets of Milan and Paris.
Name: Brad Goreski
Occupation: Stylist
Location: Milan
The Signature: Goreski is fearless and daring. His high-toned look, with chunky glasses and affinity for bowties, is classic prep meets breathtaking modernity.
The Clincher: The tangerine Jil Sander suit is a grabber, and exactly the kind of move only Goreski could pull off. But it’s the buttoned-up shirt beneath it that cinches his personal style.
The Vibe for Spring 2012: It’s not your first rodeo, so let’s skip to the part where we tell you how “BIG!” and “GRAND!” a Thom Browne-helmed Moncler show is and get right to what you want to know—what awesome sport he’s used for inspiration this time around: The word’s fencing. As faceless, uniformed men stood en garde, a series of theatrical creations—forward-thinking foil suits, cropped-in close protective gear, and Dark Lord mesh capes—punctuated the real stars of the runway, things like sharply tailored gray plaid suits, lightweight white trenches; and for the guys with the guts to pull ‘em off, those Browne-ian striped banana hammocks weren’t for show either.

The Vibe for Spring 2012: Dean and Dan Caten run their way through a smorgasbord of male iconographic locales and costumes, from Cape Cod WASP to Mykonos beach boy to preppy Italian playboy to glam rock clubbers. And in the process put their own fetishized spin on the classic pieces, whether a high-top topsider, an anorak, or a blue blazer.
