Classic Prep Gets a Modern Makeover: J.Press York Street
The hundred-year-old go-to shop for repp-tie-wearing geezers, J.Press, is considered classic by some and fusty by others. Now the brand has tapped Ovadia & Sons to design a younger, cooler line called York Street.
First Look: J.Press York Street Spring 2013
Presenting their Ariel and Shimon Ovadia-designed York Street collaboration at Manhattan’s Yale Club, J.Press lived up to the locale, introducing a collection of Ivy League-ready looks just in time for fall semester. Tennis rackets, navy blazers, and plenty of nautical hallmarks were on display, ushering in the slimmed-down-but-buttoned-up aesthetic that the York Street line was created to convey.
