Young brands like Gant Rugger and AMI are offer options in really modern proportions, while powerhouses like Ralph Lauren and Ermenegildo Zegna have updated their offerings by slimming down the cuts and doing away any extraneous bulk, even linings when necessary. It’s the first time an entire generation of younger guys have been exposed to such classic patterns, and the coming together of the old and the new is what makes these feel so fresh.

Swedish D.J. Avicii is the new face of Ralph Lauren Denim & Supply for fall, and the first images hit the web today. The 22 year-old club kid, and Grammy nominee spent several days in the studio with team RL this spring (the campaign was shot by Mark Seliger), and put together a music video that’ll drop August 3rd.

Inspired by both Cape Cod and Baja, the line is equal parts nautical adventurer and laid-back bohemian and makes use of washed, rugged fabrics like chambray and bleached fleece punched up by graphic ikat and bandana prints.
