Don Draper isn’t back on TV just yet but you can get your hands on goods inspired by America’s favorite tortured ad exec starting tomorrow with the second round of the Banana Republic Mad Men capsule collection. Using off-duty Don’s time at the country club as a reference point, the pieces incorporate elements of 1960’s sportswear but have been updated for modern men, mad or otherwise. More info here.
We’ve already given you a quick peek at Denim & Supply Ralph Lauren’s Spring 2012 collection and now comes a larger look, above, at some of the pieces hitting Denim & Supply’s online store and Macy’s shelves at this very moment. Inspired by both Cape Cod and Baja, the line is equal parts nautical adventurer and laid-back bohemian and makes use of washed, rugged fabrics like chambray and bleached fleece punched up by graphic ikat and bandana prints. And just like that serape-stripe field jacket, this season we’re all about a rugged-meets-relaxed style. Get more looks from the line here.
Norse Projects is bringing more of their Scandinavian style to the streets this season with an impressive lineup of solid sportswear. In addition to a pretty major safety orange parka moment, the brand is also rolling out a killer backpack collaboration with Ally Capellino for spring. More looks from the collection here.
The folks at Calvin outdid themselves again with their Spring 2012 Calvin Klein presentation, transforming their cavernous show space into a Greek Islands escape, and bringing to mind the Mediterranean paradise imagery of Bruce Weber’s CK ads of the ’80s. The collection itself was no slouch, either, bringing the newness of bright and bold colors, from sky blues to palm greens, to the classically slim and masculine Calvin Klein silhouette.
The vibe for Spring 2012: The TOPMAN man for next spring is, as they so eloquently put it, a “rebellious decadent.” He’s that dude in a DB, sucking down champagne at a side street cafe at 3 o’clock on a Tuesday afternoon with two coeds draped on each arm: that guy. And he looks pretty good in brilliant Moroccan-inspired patterns, jacquards, linens, and rich-toned, tasseled kicks. TOPMAN, like we saw in many of the other European men’s shows, favors the fitted, double-breasted jacket over much more relaxed underpinnings as the silhouette for the season, a look of equal parts casual and formal, and pretty much all around bad-ass. Done any skydiving in silk slacks recently? You have? Oh, well then let me introduce you to someone…

We made it, friends. New York Fashion Week has come to an end. But in case you missed any of the action, we put together a comprehensive slideshow of all of New York’s noteworthy collections. And now we’re taking a much-needed nap. See our complete New York Fashion Week recap here.
Yes, we loved the clothes as much as the next style-conscious guy, but we’ll be honest: one of our favorite parts of Fashion Week is that we can ogle at beautiful women on the streets of New York and get away with it. Better yet, we can send a photographer to follow these beauties around for a week and share the wealth with you, our loyal followers. Join us as we celebrate the fairer sex that made hopping from show to show during New York Fashion Week that much easier. Find our favorite women here.
Every year, a new crop of famous fashion wannabes crowd the front row (and the afterparties). Who hit the scene hard this year? See our highly mathematical breakdown. More celeb-spotting here.
