GQ Selects: Ray-Ban Pilot Icon Folding Aviators
Ray-Ban has put a new spin on their iconic aviator, thanks to hinges that allow the shades to fold up into the size of a single lens. However, this pair still holds true to the hallmarks of the classic we love, like brown gradient lenses and leather accents on the brow and temple. It’s a reinvented classic that continues to conjure up images of McQueen and Newman in their heydays.
Coming Soon: Oliver Peoples x Parabellum
The eyewear masters at Oliver Peoples have teamed up with the small batch experts at Parabellum to create a limited edition capsule of shades, encased in Parabellum’s hand-made bison leather case. The polarized sunglasses (in Peoples’ Linford frame) walk the line between rugged and refined, rendered in black matte or tortoise acetate, the latter with rose gold accents.

Editor’s Pick: Ray-Ban Ambermatic Collection
Ray-Ban clearly knows their way around a pair of sunglasses and this summer, when a lot of other shades out there feel a bit run-of-the-mill, their new Ambermatic collection amps up the brand’s familiar frames.
Sunglasses Under $100
Ever sat on an expensive pair of shades and felt…crushed? We checked out over 300 pairs of sunglasses and found six picks for less than a Benjamin. More info here.
First Look: Miansai x Mosley Tribes
Keeping track of all those collaborations already out there in 2012? We are and here’s another one to put on your agenda that brings together two of our favorite accessory brands, Miansai and Mosley Tribes. The two have created a sunglass and custom croakie set exclusively available at Barneys CO-OP stores and Miansai.com. More info and another look here.
The Key to Spring Sunglasses
A style that looks good on just about any face out there, the keyhole nose bridge is back in a big way for spring, with brands—like Moscot, pictured—offering updates on the classic shape. See all of our favorites here.
Editor’s Pick: Dasha for Illesteva Sunglasses
Celeb-friendly sunglass purveyor Illesteva has teamed with Russian model-turned-philanthropist Dasha Zhukova on two models of tortoise-shell sunglasses in an iconic shape. Each frame will be produced in only 100 pairs of tortoise, and light tortoise, that are handmade in France. The winning bit? A portion of the proceeds from sales of the shades will go to Restoring Vision, which provides glasses to people in need all over the world. Check out more pics and where to get them, here.
What We’re Wearing Right Now
GQ Eye blogger Sean Hotchkiss endorses the Ray-Ban Signet. “If my ever present Wayfarers and a classic Aviator had a love child, this would be it.”
